Scheduled Guest Speaker: Lourin Hubbard
Lourin will speak on running for office and why we need more women, people of color, and young people to run, as well his upcoming mayoral campaign.
Lourin Hubbard is a father, husband, Fresno State Grad, public servant, and advocate for the central valley. From an early age, he witnessed his single mother working as an admitting clerk on the front lines of health care, fighting every day for her coworkers and children alike. She instilled a profound drive to build a better life, utilize every opportunity, and fight for common sense solutions for families and the community.
For over a decade Lourin Hubbard has been a steadfast public servant. As an Eligibility Specialist with the County of Fresno, he worked case by case to find solutions for central valley residents. He spent over five years with CalPERS ensuring his community had access to resources on everything from health, disability, and retirement benefits, as well as an adept understanding of laws, rules, and regulations which governed the process. Lourin currently works as an Operations Manager at the California Department of Water resources where he sees issues of valley families and businesses firsthand. He ran for Congress, and even in the face of defeat, he became even more determined to give back.
